A little slice of October

Tuesday, 11 November 2014

October was a pretty busy month! Here is a round-up of what I got up to! Unfortunately there's not many photos!
1- October saw me finally getting a new toy! I went for the gold iPhone 6 and so far, I love it!
2- In the middle of the month, we saw the amazing Billy Connolly live at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh. I cried with laughter from beginning to end!
3- As usual, October was a very busy month for Uni work! Now to get working on the dissertation and December coursework!
4- And the perfect end to a busy month! Our anniversary weekend. You can read more about that here

3rd Anniversary Weekend - Knockderry Country House Hotel

Wednesday, 5 November 2014

Hello lovelies!
So some of you may know that Friday 31st October was my partner and I's 3rd Anniversary! On Friday morning I received a card telling me to pack an overnight bag and get ready to leave at 1pm! I was so excited to see where he was taking me. And I was not disappointed!
We headed off towards the West of Scotland, eventually arriving at the stunning Knockderry Country House Hotel in Cove, near Loch Lomond.
I honestly couldn't fault the stay at all! It was just perfect. We had a beautiful room overlooking Loch Long, with a huge four poster bed!
Here are some photos from our stay!

How cute are these mugs?! I need to try track some down for myself!

The other half had arranged for a bottle of prosecco to be in the room for our arrival! Yummy!

Look at that stunning view. Even the murky Scottish weather can't spoil that view!

This bath was so good, I had to go in it twice! Obviously the prosecco was enjoyed in the bath!

Lovely Arran Aromatics products in the bathroom!

Just look at that bed! It was like sleeping on a cloud! Best nights sleep I've ever had.

Now of course, we ate in the hotel restaurant. The food was just to die for!

Starter- Wood fired Pigeon Breast
Main- Fillet Steak with Chunky Chips
Dessert- Meringue with Lemon Curd Ice Cream and Poached Apricots

I genuinely don't have a bad word to say about the meal. It was just out of this world. I am craving more meringue just looking at the picture!

If you are in the West of Scotland and looking for a nice place to stay, I can't recommend Knockderry House enough! I will definitely be returning!

TheSundayPost

Sunday, 2 November 2014

Hello Everyone! A little later than I would have liked, but here is this week's Sunday Post!

This week has been pretty full on with uni work! I had an assigment deadline on Thursday which very helpfully clashed with a presentation day! I took the week off work to get everything done which was such a good idea! Thankfully I've got a few weeks now before the next deadline! Some time to focus on getting some blog posts up!

Friday marked 3 years since my other half and I got together! (Yes we got together at a halloween party!) I was whisked off to a posh hotel near loch lomond! We had a lovely wee break together! I'll put up a post in more detail next week!

On Saturday we visited a small village on the banks of Loch Lomond. We had some tasty lunch in a cute little cafe before heading back to Edinburgh!

This was our lovely home for Friday Night. Ughhh take me back now!
Today has been spent writing a horrible report on my presentation! Of course I wasted the day by sleeping until lunchtime! Silly me! Now I better get back to finishing my report and get to bed for work tomorrow!
Have a great week!

2nd Anniversary Surprise!

Wednesday, 13 November 2013

This is a little bit of a late post, but on Thursday 31st October, my partner and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary (not wedding anniversary, I'm still working on that!)

He'd been taunting me with a surprise he had planned for weeks! In the morning he came through to the sitting room with a gorgeous leopard print suitcase and told me to pack enough things for the next day! Then we got in the car and drove about 30 miles outside of Edinburgh.

This was me excited before we left!

(I really need to learn to smile! ha ha!)

Then we arrived at the Macdonald Inchyra Grange Hotel and Spa near Falkirk! The hotel was gorgeous! It was in what looked like an old church which had been converted into a hotel.

This was our lovely room for the night:

How amazing is this sofa!!? I was honestly contemplating buying it off the hotel, i loved it that much! I took this photo to see if I could find a similar one anywhere when we eventually buy a house!

So, once we had put our things in the room we headed down for lunch in the restaurant. I had gammon steaks with chips and egg which was amazing. Full of flavour, which is not something you can always say about gammon! My partner had mushroom tagliatelle. I had a little taste of this and it was also amazing!

After lunch, we headed to the swimming pool. It was lovely and quiet! Everytime I try to go swimming in Edinburgh, the pool is full of babies and toddlers screaming! We had a lovely swim, sauna and steam room, then we relaxed on the heated loungers before heading back upstairs for a shower.

Then came my second surprise! He'd booked me 2 spa treatments!! My first treatment was a back, neck and shoulder massage which was amazing! That was the first time I'd ever had a massage but I will definitely be booking another one in the future!

The second treatment as a 30 minute facial. The hotel used Decleor skin products and it was my first time using these products. The therapist told me they are all made using essential oils and natural products. After the facial my skin felt lovely and soft! It also got rid of the patch of dry skin I had on my forehead which was a bonus. My skin is still feeling lovely even 2 weeks later! You can buy Decleor skin products HERE

After my relaxing time in the beautiful spa, we headed out to dinner to celebrate our 2 years together!

Please excuse my face! We took these photos before i had done my hair and make-up!

My dress is from Lipsy (£48). I also had a leopard print clutch bag from Accessorize, plain black tights from Primark and plain black court shoes from New Look.

My other half is wearing Primark Chinos, M&S shirt, and tartan tie with matching pocket square from Tie Rack!

We both had an amazing time and we can't wait to do it again some day! In January we will be heading off on our very special holiday which we have been saving and waiting for for over a year! I'm so excited about it! It has always been my dream, when I turn 21 to go to New York and we are finally going!!!

Expect many excited blog posts about this as we get even closer! 50 days to go! :)
